Select Sotheby's International Realty's management team consists of individuals with proven track records for building successful businesses and bringing clients together to effectively market and close transactions. Collectively, the management team has 40+ years of real estate and business experience, deep knowledge of the upstate housing market and strong community roots. John A. Burke, Jr. - Broker / Owner
Mr. Burke has been involved in various stages of business development throughout his career. In addition to his interest in Select Sotheby's International Realty, he owns VISTACO LLC, a strategic management consulting firm, and is a partner in Terrel Hills Water Company, Inc. He is Vice President and Board Member for Hannah's Hope Fund for GAN, a local charity based in Clifton Park, NY. He also holds a current license as a NYS Real Estate Broker.
Prior to joining the Select Sotheby's International Realty partners, Mr. Burke served as the Managing Director for the New York division of Core BTS, Inc. (Core) which is a national technology solutions provider, wholly owned by Convergence Technologies, Inc.(CTI) which was formed as an acquisition corporation for the purposes of identifying top level, profitable, technology solutions providers in the Eastern United States which would be candidates for consolidation. Prior to Core, Mr. Burke served as Executive Vice President for Open Systems, Inc.(OSI), which was the first company acquired by CTI. From 1994 - 2004, Mr. Burke served as Vice President of Operations for Open Systems Technologies, LLC (OST) which was a startup venture based out of Clifton Park, NY in 1991. As the 1st employee for OST, Mr. Burke gained valuable entrepreneurial skills as he worked side by side with the company's founder and president to build one of the leading technology solutions providers in the Greater Capital Region.
Mr. Burke holds a Bachelors of Science degree (BS) in Marketing and Management from Siena College, Loudonville, NY.
Mr. Parker has been involved in the construction, real estate development, and banking industries for more than three decades. In addition to his interest in Select Sotheby's International Realty, he owns a real estate development company and is a partner in Terrel Hills Water Company, Inc. He also holds a current license as a NYS Real Estate Broker.
Prior to joining the Select Sotheby's International Realty partners, Mr. Parker was the founder, owner and operator of a brokerage and consulting company in his own name focusing on the sale of large commercial land acquisition and development projects and is the founder and CEO of a local real estate development company. Mr. Parker's intimate knowledge of every aspect of the real estate development business continues to fuel his passion for success. After moving to the Capital Region in 1987, he founded Legend Development, LLC. Legend's construction of the area's most desirable homes and neighborhoods fulfilled Mr. Parker's mission of building "homes of distinction," which earned him several awards and the accolades of the local and regional press, who dubbed him "Mr. Malta." From 1997-2000 and from 2003-2005, he served on the Town of Malta's Master Plan Committee. Mr. Parker's ongoing work as a consultant on the purchase, design and approval of the area's prime commercial properties will ensure that the evolution of Malta and vicinity will occur in a way that adheres to its Master Plan.
Mr. Parker has also been an active committee member for the NFL Alumni Caring for Kids Upstate NY Chapter since 1997.
