The High Peaks Region of the Adirondacks is so named because all of the Adirondack peaks over 4,000 feet in elevation, along with many other lower mountains, are located here. There are miles of maintained hiking trails, hundreds of ponds and streams for fishing and boating and enough roadside crags and hidden cliffs to keep any climber occupied for a lifetime.
The High Peaks is the most popular part of the Adirondack Park for climbers, hikers and back country skiers because the variety, quality and accessibility of the trails are truly world class.
