scenic Adirondacks Our Lake Placid gallery is located in the heart of the "Adirondack Park". In 1884, New York State created the Adirondack Forest Preserve by setting aside several hundred thousand non-contiguous acres of its land to be "forever kept as wild forest lands". Later, in 1892, the State took its map and drew a blue line around the Adirondack Mountains and the Preserve lands, formally naming the territory the Adirondack Park. The Park became permanent in 1894 when the State passed a constitutional amendment protecting it.

Today, the Park covers approximately 6.1 million acres and is a mosaic of both public and private land. Rich in history and culture, stunning in its beauty, and replete with opportunities for adventure and recreation, the Park is an exciting place to live and visit.
